AdAttributionKit

Also: AAK · SKAN 5

AdAttributionKit is Apple's successor to SKAdNetwork, introduced in 2024. It keeps SKAN's on-device, aggregated attribution model and adds re-engagement attribution, support for alternative app marketplaces, and interoperability with SKAN postbacks.

The re-engagement capability is what SKAN 5.0 had promised: attributing a conversion after a user who already has the app taps an ad and opens it. Apple shipped it inside AdAttributionKit rather than as a new SKAN version.

Postbacks under AdAttributionKit are still delayed, aggregated, and volume-gated. It extends the privacy model; it is not a route around it. Most stacks run SKAN and AdAttributionKit side by side in 2026.
